ATIK | 19- 04- 2009 | As a result of the state operations on April 14th in more then 13 regions including Diyarbakir, 70 party leaders of the DTP were arrested in a anti- democratic way. In this operation, it was said that the state attorney generalship acts in ‘secrecy’ and the Turkish police as always spread the terror of the fascist state. The Asrin Law Office was also raid and the lawyers of Abdullah Öcalan were imprisoned.
During the regional elections on March 29th the victory of the DTP in the Kurdish regions and the loss of the Turkish ruling party AKP, the Turkish armed forces and the general military stuff, made the ruling classes uncomfortable. They show the living example of running behind new repression measures against the people and its representatives. The fascist ruling forces which stay desperate in front of the justified liberation struggle of the Kurdish nation and the people and its resistance, want to implement its destroying- denying- annexure policies in much higher dimensions. This military-police operation which is made against the artery of freedom the guerilla fighters in the mountains, the civil peoples and the legitimate elected representatives, shows the big weakness of collapse and deterioration.
The imperialist terror organization and war machine NATO, which is celebrating its 60th Anniversary that were celebrated during its recent summit, the number 1 representative of the imperialist state terror’ the USA, and its new elected president Obama visited Turkey right after the NATO summit, this is not a coincidence. The AKP has initiated these operations after its election defeat in the Kurdish provinces. This shows clearly that the fascist state through the AKP has organized more effective, more secret and more aggressive new ERGENEKON teams.
They want to break the revolutionary-democratic will of the Kurdish people who have won the regional elections by determining their desire for equality and freedom. There was police terror in the region Ağri because the masses red handed those who tried to win the elections by deception and intrigues, in Urfa-Amara two Kurdish patriots were killed as they were returning from a democratic election event, this killing was justified by a government speaker by saying “they got to close to the Armenian border”. With these examples the state shows that the attacks are going to intensify.
The Chairperson of the DTP Ahmet Turk designates in his statement’ “No force is going to stop us from this honorable and peaceful struggle. What ever price there needs to be paid, with great bravery and determination, without compromising on our democratic attitude, we will continue our struggle. No force can make the DTP fall on its knees”.
We as the Confederation of Workers from Turkey in Europe (ATIK), call upon all democratic, revolutionary, patriots to take common actions and to defend and strengthen the legal and justified and democratic struggle of the Kurdish nation and the DTP.
